description:

The history of Setback Districts in Los Angeles County is somewhat obscure, and research is needed to better understand their origin and the purpose for which they were intended. There were 15 Setback Districts adopted between 1932 and 1955, of which 11 remain in the unincorporated area (the other four having been absorbed into city boundaries as a result of city incorporations, annexations, etc.). The original 15 Setback Districts are defined in the Los Angeles County Code. The ones that no longer exist are: No. 2 - West Hollywood; No. 10 - E. Compton Midland Precinct TR No. 4827; No. 11 - N.W. El Monte TR. No. 10821; and No. 15 - Lomita.

This layer features the full outlines (multi-part polygons) of the district boundaries, aggregated from the SDE.DIST_DRP_SETBACKS_POLY layer.
