Description: This layer represents the proposed Transit Oriented Districts as depicted in Figure 6.5 in the General Plan 2035. These are urban and suburban areas with access to major transit and commercial corridors that have the most potential for infill development, and are well-suited for higher density housing and mixed uses. With the exception of the East Los Angeles 3rd Street Specific Plan, all of these are 1/2 mile buffers around a major transit stop.UPDATE HISTORY:10/18/18 - Updated for adoption of Willowbrook TOD Specific Plan which went into effect on this date.10/31/19 - Updated for adoption of West Carson TOD Specific Plan which went into effect on this date.7/1/20 - Updated for the adoption of the Connect Southwest LA TOD Specific Plan in West Athens - Westmont.3/10/23 - Updated for the adoption of the Florence-Firestone TOD Specific Plan.4/22/25 - Updated for the adoption of the South Bay Area Plan on 3/11/25 (effective on 4/10/25), adjusting the boundary of the West Carson TOD Specific Plan to include Alpine Village.
