Description: These areas were generated by overlaying previously existing Agricultural Opportunity Areas, data from the State of CA Farmland Mapping and Monitoring Program, and the LA County Agricultural Commissioner. According to the plan, these areas encourage low-density residential development; limit incompativle non-agricultural uses; encourage the establishment of communtiy farms, gardens, and similar agricultural operations; and to investigate the feasibility of financial and/or zoning incentive programs for farmers such as the Williamson Act.
