Description: The State of California Department of Conservation generated various mineral resource zones for the state. This data is not available digitally, so the Department of Regional Planning obtained these paper maps, scanned, georeferenced and digitized them in 2007. These polygons represent the MRZ-2 type of mapped information which states "Areas where adequate information indicates that significant mineral deposits are present, or where it is judged that a high likelihood exists for their presence". These scanned maps are available at DRP /Other_Agencies/State_of_CA/Mines_and_Geology.
